HOLDEN – Shirley M. (Johnston) Anderson, 74, of Mill Street, Jefferson, died at home unexpectedly on Saturday, April 21, 2012. She was raised in Douglas the daughter of Harry and Anna (O’Connell) Johnston and lived 49 years in Holden.
Shirley graduated from Douglas High School and Becker College in Worcester, and worked at Guaranty Bank and Trust Co. in Worcester for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband with whom she would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on May 21st, Leonard C. Anderson; a son, David S. Anderson of Holden; a daughter, Lori A. Dillon and her husband Richard of Londonderry, NH; a sister, Carol Zottoli of Holden; four grandchildren, Jodi and Jillian Desroches, Cassidy and Callie Dillon, all of Londonderry.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Shirley’s family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning followed by a procession to St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson for a funeral Mass celebrating Shirley’s life at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
