Shirley J. (Nelson) Hubbard

Shirley J. (Nelson) Hubbard, 97, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 24, 2023. She was born in Princeton, the daughter of Jesse B. and Mildred (Brownson) Nelson and lived in Princeton for most of her life.
Shirley graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School where she learned hairdressing and secretarial skills. She went on to work as an Administrative Assistant at Gardner State Hospital, Morgan Construction Co. in Worcester and Central Mass Regional Education Center. Shirley was a member of the First Congregational Church of Princeton for many years. After retiring, Shirley was active at the Hubbardston and Princeton Senior Centers. She enjoyed travelling, sewing and quilting and spending time outdoors, especially on her family farm. Shirley also enjoyed practicing yoga for over 40 years.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Arthur C. Hubbard; and her son, Bradford A. Hubbard. She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her daughter, Cynthia Keyes and her husband, Stanley of Princeton; her daughter in law, Nancy Hubbard of Princeton; her grandchildren, Heather Cheney, Clayton Hubbard, Andrew Hubbard and Michael Keyes; her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Dixie and Steven Hubbard, Brady and Brandon Cheney, Aila and Kylie Keyes and Ray Castine. She was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Nelson.
