WORCESTER – Shirley R. (Handy) Marois, 84, passed away peacefully at home under the loving care of her family on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Born and raised in Worcester, Shirley was a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Corrine A. (Robert) Handy. She will be affectionately remembered and missed by her son , James L. Marois and his wife, Patricia of Worcester; her daughter, Denise J. Lecuyer and her husband, James of Worcester; her brother, Roger Handy of Florida; her sister, Beverly Noyes of Holden; two grandchildren, Jessica Marois, and James Marois; one great grandson, Brady; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband, J. Paul “Marty” R. Marois, who just recently passed in January of this year; her two brothers, Robert and Raymond Handy and her two sisters, Jane DuBois and Janet Paquette. Shirley worked at the Sheridan Lincoln and the hotel at the International Golf Course for more than 20 years, finding excitement in the people she may come across in her daily duties. She was also so crafty that all the downtown banks had her decorating their big front display windows with floral arrangements on a monthly basis. But through it all, her true passion was her family. She was fun loving and outgoing and you could see her heart and soul in the beautiful gardens that she designed and made flourish. Shirley was a dedicated member of St. Charles of Borromeo Church in Worcester. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Shirley’s family from 9 to 10:30 am on Friday, March 3, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
