Shirley E. (Boquist) Dickman

HOLDEN - Shirley E. (Boquist) Dickman, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 3, 2022, after an illness. She was born in her parents’ home in Rutland in 1934, the daughter of Carl E. and Edith Louise (Montcalm) Boquist and had lived the past 70 years in the same home in Jefferson.

Her loving husband of 56 years, Everett L. Dickman, passed away in 2009. She leaves her children, David E. Dickman of Jefferson and Cynthia L. Smith and her husband, Craig of Holden; her sister, Inez L. Kennedy of Rutland; her grandchildren, Jessica Scanlon and her husband Matthew, Lindsay Smith, and Sarah Dickman; her great-grandchildren, Thomas, Lukas, Baylee, and Charles; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, Dennis, and Philip Dickman; her brother, Carl Boquist, Jr.; and her granddaughter, Danielle Dickman.

Shirley graduated from Rutland High School and worked at Holden District Hospital before retiring. She loved taking care of and decorating her home. Family and music meant everything to her and she would say “I was fortunate to be able to grow up with my children.” She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson. Her love was unconditional and her faith in Christ sustained her in all things.

Funeral services for Shirley are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O.
