Shelah O. Bjorkman

March 27, 1944 — October 6, 2014

STERLING – Shelah O. Bjorkman, 70, of Tanglewood Rd., passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2014, under the loving care of her family and the staff at Holden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Holden.



Born and raised in Worcester, Shelah was the daughter of Howard and Olive (Severance) Glidden. She lived 13 years in Princeton before moving to Sterling in 1979.



Shelah graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. She owned a hair and beauty salon for many years in Princeton and spent nearly 40 years building and operating the Sterling-based family business, Century Pools, with her husband, Dick.



Shelah wintered in Marathon, Florida for over 30 years with her husband. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be remembered for the way she lovingly cared for others.



Shelah will be dearly missed by her husband of 53 years, Dick R. Bjorkman. She is also survived by her daughter, Robin E. Ciccone and her husband, John of Princeton; her son, Curt D. Bjorkman and his wife, Kate of Westminster; a sister, Diane Cirelli of Florida; three grandchildren, Lorenzo and Caterina Ciccone and Ava Bjorkman; and several nephews and nieces.



A remembrance service honoring Shelah’s life will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling, is assisting the family with arrangements.
