STERLING – Shawn (Gale) Bisson, 55, died, Saturday, July 22, 2006 in her home after an illness. She is survived by her husband, Michael Bisson; a son, Kevin Michael Bisson and daughter-in-law, Yesenia of Athol; a daughter, Kendra Maria Bisson-Rivera of Sterling; three sisters, Linda Starkey of Hagerstown, MD, Sherri Casella of Newfane, VT, and Jana Labbe, of East Baldwin, ME; three grandsons, Eric David Rivera, Kevin Nathaniel Bisson and Jayven Michael Bisson and several nieces and nephews.
She was born on June 28, 1951, in Bellows Falls, VT, daughter of Rodney Fernando and Bernice Eva (Buzzell) Gale. Shawn graduated from Bellows Falls High School in 1969 and was a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Council. She attended Champlain College in Burlington, VT.
Shawn met Michael Bisson on January 3, 1971. The two were married on September 16, 1972 in North Walpole, NH. The couple resided in Vermont until August of 1990, moving to Lincoln, NE, before settling in Sterling, where they have lived since 1996.
Shawn was baptized into the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in 1975 in West Lebanon, NH. She is currently a member of the College Church in South Lancaster.
The funeral service for Shawn will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, in The Seventh-Day Adventist College Church, 337 Main Street, South Lancaster. Pastor Patrick Morrison will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road, Sterling. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Seventh-Day Adventist College Church Youth Center Program, P.O. Box 877, South Lancaster, MA 01561. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, (Rte 12), Sterling, is directing arrangements.
