Shaun A. Howe

WORCESTER/RUTLAND – Shaun A. Howe, 28, of Orton Street Extension in Worcester, died Friday, October 7, 2011, at UMass Memorial Health Care after being stricken ill at home. He was born in Worcester and lived in Paxton and Rutland before moving to Worcester in 1997.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his father and step-mother, Ronald C. Howe and Holly D. (Parks) Howe of Rutland; his mother and step-father, Lydean A. (Chagnon) Kaufman and Stephen H. Kaufman of Worcester; his brother, Travis T. Howe of Rutland; his sister, Hayley D. Howe of Rutland; maternal grandfather, George E. Chagnon of Worcester; paternal grandfather, Charles F. Howe of New Braintree; his dear friend, Michelle Wylie with whom he lived; aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his two dogs, Asia and Karma.

While living in Paxton, Shaun played both little league baseball and soccer. He attended Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in Charlton where he played varsity baseball and basketball and worked many years for Business Installations in Millbury. He was a member of the Rutland Sportsman’s Club, enjoyed playing basketball and pool with his younger brother, and was an avid New England sports fan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 10, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In honoring Shaun’s life, A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, at St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sweetpea F.O.R. Animals, P.O. Box 897, Rutland, MA 01543.
