HOLDEN – Eliza S. (Kurtigian) Haffty, 88, formerly of Worcester, died on Tuesday June 22, 2010 in Holden Nursing Home.
Her husband, George N. Haffty died in 1984. She leaves her son, Richard G. Haffty of Holden and a brother, Harry S. Kurtigian, Jr. of Worcester. She was born in Providence, RI, the daughter of Harry and Margaret (Kizirian) Kurtigian, Sr. and lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Holden in 2006.
Mrs. Haffty graduated from Commerce High School and Becker College both in Worcester. She worked as a real estate broker for over thirty years. She also worked for the Worcester Community Action Council and New England Telephone. Mrs. Haffty was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, its Women's Guild and the Worcester Women's Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 25th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral service for Mrs. Haffty will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
