STERLING - Scott James Hassett, 52, beloved husband and best friend of Gail (Friars) Hassett for over 30 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Mass General Hospital, surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, loved and who loved him.
He and Gail were blessed with two daughters, Lauren Marie Hassett and Shayna Friars Hassett, who grew up to be successful, compassionate, and loving adults of whom he was extremely proud.
Scott was born in Somerville, son of Leonard and Janice (Graves) Hassett. He dedicated his life to do the best for the Lord, his family, his church, and his job. Scott always took great pride in everything he undertook and showed compassion and a desire to help others in all he did. His career with Husqvarna turned into a series of relationships with people whose businesses Scott treated as if they were his own. Many people who started out as customers or dealers came to consider Scott their trusted friend.
The many vacations with his family and trips with Husqvarna that he earned will leave precious fond memories for all those who traveled with them.
He is survived by his wife, Gail; two daughters, Lauren and Shayna; his parents, Leonard and Janice Hassett; and sisters, Julie Knight and Janis Araniz.
