Sarah grew up in the Tatnuck neighborhood of Worcester, graduating from Classical High School in 1955, where she met the love of her life, Dick. They married in 1957 and spent 50 years together, raising their family in Shrewsbury, MA.
Sarah devoted her career to nursing, working as a registered nurse and nurse manager for over 30 years at Worcester Hahnemann Hospital. A graduate of the Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing, she was an active member of the alumni group. Later, Sarah worked as a case manager at Worcester’s Memorial Hospital and Auburn Life Care Center, before retiring in 1998.
In 1982, Sarah and Dick bought their dream home in Moultonborough, NH, where they spent over 25 years together enjoying the summers and winters on Lake Winnipesaukee, creating special, lifelong memories with family, many friends, and their beloved golden retriever, Colby.
Sarah was a talented quilter and knitter. She loved reading, gardening and enjoyed her favorite crossword puzzles and word jumbles. She was an active member of the Moultonborough Lion’s Club, Women’s Club and the United Methodist Church of Moultonborough, and the Annie Forts’ “UP” Syndrome Fund. She devoted her time and talents to many special events in the community. Sarah was an avid New England sports fan and loved her Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins.
All who knew Sarah, saw what a beautiful person she was and loved her because of her kindness, compassion, sense of humor and her unwavering support, always giving words of encouragement.

Our hearts are broken because she is no longer with us here, but our family is comforted knowing she is reunited with Dad (and Colby) in Heaven.
