PRINCETON - Sandra J. (Ranta) Drury, 78, of Princeton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 under the loving care of her family and the staff at Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in West Boylston. Born in Rockland and raised in Abington, Sandy was the daughter of William E. and Edna C. (Hammell) Drury and lived 50 years in Princeton.
Her husband of 52 years, Chester I. Drury died in 2010. She leaves a son, Eric R. Drury of Leominster; a daughter, Cheryl A. Drury of Webster; a sister, Deborah Mahoney of Hampden; five grandchildren, Melissa, Joshua, Nicholas, Alex and Matthew; three great grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha and Jaden; and a nephew, Ryan Mahoney.
Sandy graduated from Abington High School and Henry Heywood School of Nursing of Gardner. She was a registered nurse and worked at Oakdale Nursing Home in West Boylston for over 10 years. She was an animal lover and will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Sandy's family from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, at Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling. A funeral service honoring her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 11, in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
