HOLDEN - Sandra M. (Jakubiszen) Bianchi Donaldson, 66, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 22. Candi was born in Detroit, the daughter of Julius and Alice (Roscoe) Jakubiszen and lived in Kentucky and Ohio before moving to Holden 28 years ago. She leaves her husband of 28 years, Ian Donaldson of Holden; a daughter, Leigh Anne Bianchi of Paxton; a sister, Carole Swiderski and her husband Phil of Traverse City, MI; and a granddaughter, Catarina Oliver of Holden. She was predeceased by her sister, Beverly Vivona.After graduating High School, Sandra began working as an Administrative Assistant in the Detroit area. She later worked for various companies in Ohio, Kentucky and Massachusetts before joining the former Protector Group, now Marsh McLellan Companies, for 15 years. She married the love of her life, Ian Donaldson in 1988 in Ohio before moving to Holden. Candi was a gifted artist and her home is a showcase of her beautiful works of art. Her greatest passion in life was gardening, which is displayed abundantly throughout the landscape surrounding her home. Sitting in the screen house or on the terrace looking out at the gardens, enjoying a glass of wine with family and friends was a common scene. Candi was known for her love of hummingbirds, anxiously awaiting their return, planning and preparing with her dear friends Norah and Eileen. She loved taking trips to Conway, NH, first for her involvement with HAWC then later to their vacation home. Her passion, sweetness and positive energy will be missed by all that knew her.Relatives and friends of Candi are invited to attend memorial calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 28 at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
