HOLDEN – Sandra D. (Cameron) Benson, 54, formerly of Holden, died Monday, November 8, 2004, at her daughter’s home in Westfield after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She leaves her son, Michael P. Benson and his wife Cheryl J. of Pelham, New Hampshire; a daughter, Kelly E. Thomas and her husband Ronald L. of Westfield; her father, Robert Cameron of Largo, Florida; a step-brother, Brian Chandler of Plymouth; a step-sister, Carol LaPrade of Westboro; and two grandsons. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late June (Russell) Cameron, and lived in Holden for many years.
Sandie was a hairdresser for 15 years at Kathy’s Beauty Salon in Holden and previously worked for 15 years for Hair Unlimited in Rutland. She was a member of the Holden Chapel and enjoyed decorating, gardening, and spending time with her family. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and her family rejoices knowing she is in Heaven with Almighty God. Sandra’s strength, courage and faith made her a woman of excellence.
A memorial service for Sandie will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
