Sandra L. (Cooper) Joy

STERLING – Sandra L. (Cooper) Joy, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, after an illness. She was born in Clinton, the daughter of George and Edith (Alger) Cooper and had lived most of her life in Sterling.
She leaves her loving husband of 25 years, James Joy; her children, Amanda Roy of Sterling, Andrew Blake of Florida and Candace Plummer of Florida; her brothers, Richard Cooper and Gerald Cooper; her grandchildren, Joseph Blake, Michael Plummer, Kristopher Plummer, and Michael Roy; her great-grandchildren, Leilah & Zell Plummer; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Cooper.
Sandra was a bookkeeper for several years at Sterling-Lancaster Lumber Yard & Legate Auto before retiring in 1997. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed making her own birthday cards, motorcycle rides and spending time at the lake house in New Hampshire.
Funeral services for Sandra are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sterling Ambulance Fund. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling.
