HOLDEN, MA/DANIELSON, CT – Salvatore J. Mascitelli, 78, formerly of Holden, died peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at home.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Eleanor I. (McCullough) Mascitelli: 4 sons, David M. Mascitelli and his wife Shari of Manteca, CA, John J. Mascitelli of Elmira, CA, Thomas B. Mascitelli and his wife Christine of Holden and Peter S. A. Mascitelli of Worcester; a sister, Jeanne Overton of Antioch, CA; 3 grandsons, 4 granddaughters and 1 great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Martinez, CA the son of Joseph L. and Angela (Ferrante) Mascitelli and lived 41years in California before moving to Holden in 2002.
Salvatore graduated from Alhambra High School in CA and received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of California Berkeley. He worked as a chemist for Olin Corporation in New Haven, CT and previously, worked for General Latex in Cambridge, Lucot Chemical Co. in Millbury and as a Manufacturer's Rep in the chemical industry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to7 on Wednesday, September 9th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The funeral service for Salvatore will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 10th in Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
