Ruth M. (Waska) Anderson

HOLDEN - Ruth M. (Waska) Anderson, 92, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at UMass Memorial Healthcare University Campus.
Her husband of 62 years, Robert W. Anderson, passed away in 2004. She leaves a son, Paul Anderson of Barre and his fiancée, Janet Stedman of Worcester; three grandsons, Robert P., William G. and John R. Anderson all of Barre. She was predeceased by two sisters, Nellie and Jane Waska.
Ruth was born in Worcester, the daughter of George and Julia (Dabrivalskiute) Waska and graduated from Commerce High School. She was a secretary for several years in the Public Records Dept. at Worcester City Hall. Previously, she worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the Worcester Welfare office. Ruth loved many dogs, enjoyed gardening, cooking, crossword puzzles and loved to spend time with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, in the funeral home followed by a committal service at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 10 Hammond Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
