RUTLAND/SPRINGFIELD – Ruth E. (Campbell) Pellegrini, age 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in West Brookfield.
Born in Worcester, Ruth was the daughter of the late George M. and Mercy H. (Wheeler) Campbell. Ruth graduated from Rutland High School and finished her Associates Degree at Becker College in Worcester. She worked her career as a Secretary at George F. Blake Inc. in Worcester, Burgess and Co. Accountants in East Longmeadow and spent many years at Agway, Inc.
Ruth lived for many years in Springfield before moving back to Rutland. She married the love of her life, Alfred “Al” Pellegrini. The two enjoyed their many boat excursions on the Connecticut River, and traveled the country on bus trips. Wherever she went, she could be found with a camera in hand documenting her journeys. She loved her cats, reading, playing scrabble, crossword puzzles, ceramics, scrap-booking, and walking with her friends in a walking club.
She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Rutland and the Rutland Senior Center.
She will be missed dearly by her sister, Georgia Graves of Barre; her nephews, Michael Amidio and his wife, Catherine of Oakham, Joseph Amidio and his wife, Mary of Oakham, Jennifer Amidio of Rutland, Kevin Graves and his wife, Brooke of Hubbardston, Aaron Graves and his wife, Alicia of Barre, Janet Pierce and her husband, Brian of New Braintree, Tom Graves and his wife, Jen of Worcester; her cousin, Sheila Judkins of Rutland; and several great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Alfred Pellegrini.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ruth’s family from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday, September 13th at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the First Congregational Church of Rutland, 264 Main St., Rutland, with burial at Rural Cemetery in Rutland.
