WORCESTER – Ruth Briggs (Moore) Bovaird, 92, formerly of Holden, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Christopher House of Worcester after an illness.
Her husband of 42 years, Arthur Bovaird, passed away in 1989. She leaves three sons, Neill Bovaird and his wife Jad of East Falmouth, Craig Bovaird and his wife Elaine of Princeton and Wayde Bovaird and his wife Janet of Holden; a brother, George Moore of Montreal, Canada; two sisters, Mabel Ebbett of Woodstock, N.B. Canada and Phyllis Wilson of Chipman, N.B. Canada; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. Her twin sister Marion Brewster and a brother, Allen Moore predeceased her.
Ruth was born in Chipman, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Murray and Estella (Briggs) Moore and graduated from St. John General Hospital School of Nursing in New Brunswick, Canada. She was a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. Ruth was a member of the Salem Covenant Church in Worcester.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 28, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Funeral services for Mrs. Bovaird will be held on Tuesday, May 29, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a committal service at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New England Dream Center, 5 Chestnut Street, Worcester, MA 01609; or to the Christopher House, Patient Activities Department, 10 Mary Scano Drive, Worcester, MA 01605.
