WEST BOYLSTON – Ruth Josephine (Kudirka) Lovell, 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital after a valiant struggle against Covid-19. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Joseph and Julia (Kupstas) Kudirka and lived most of her life in West Boylston.
Her loving husband of 41 years, John P. Lovell, passed away in 1995. She is survived by her son, David J. Lovell and wife, Michele of Holden; her daughter, Judith A. (Lovell) Randall and husband, Dennis of Kingston; her sister, Carol Burke of Hardwick; four grandchildren, Christina Bourdelais of Gardiner, ME, Kaitlyn Gillis of Spencer, Bradford Randall of Kingston and Samantha Randall of Quincy; four great-grandchildren, Timothy, Jacob and Madelyn Bourdelais and Declan Randall; many nieces and nephews; close friend, Mary Ward and her wonderful neighbors.
Ruth graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester, became a Land Title Examiner at the Worcester Courthouse and ultimately, a devoted mother, wife, and homemaker for her family. She loved to paint and was a talented artist who enjoyed displaying her work. She took great pride caring to her gardens, feeding the birds and day trips with friends. She also cherished the quality time spent with her grand and great grandchildren. Ruth was a member of St. Mary of the Hills Church, the Tower Hill Botanic Gardens both in Boylston and the West Boylston Senior Center.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Saturday, May 15th with an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and for everyone’s safety, appropriate social distancing and wearing of a mask will be required. Burial will follow at High Plains Cemetery in West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston, MA 01505 or to Artis4Every1.com, 96 Barre Plains Rd., Oakham, MA 01068. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
