Ruth E. (Green) Johnson

HOLDEN – Ruth E. (Green) Johnson, age 89, died peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Brookdale Eddy Pond in Auburn, surrounded by the loving presence of her family.

Ruth was born in South Bay, New York, the daughter of George W. and Duella (Isherwood) Green.

Alongside her late husband Earle Johnson, they together operated Earle A. Johnson Florists, a fixture in Holden for decades. In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed watching classic movies, and relished the challenge of a jigsaw puzzle or a good game of cribbage.

Ruth and Earle maintained a “weekend retreat” on Partridgeville Pond in Templeton, creating many years of cherished family memories. They had been longtime members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holden.

Ruth will be lovingly missed and remembered by her sister-in-law Pam Rugg and her husband Earle of Ogunquit, ME and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Earle A. Johnson and her siblings, Russell, Eleanor, Quentin and Marjorie.

Family and friends will gather for a Graveside Funeral Service at 11:00am on Thursday, March 31 at Fairview Cemetery, 380 Providence Road, South Grafton. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
