GEORGETOWN/MARSHFIELD - Ruth F. Fay, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport. Born in Boston and raised in Roslindale, Ruth was the daughter of Francis and Myrtle (Morse) Fay, and lived several years in Cambridge, 40 years in Marshfield and 12 years in Hudson before moving to Georgetown in 2015.
Ruth graduated from Boston State College with both a Bachelor and Master’s degrees in education. She was an elementary school teacher in Marshfield for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, Canada and throughout the United States.
She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her sister, Barbara J. Paradiso of Georgetown; a niece, Sandra F. Paradiso of Ipswich; two nephews, Stephen Paradiso and his wife, Beth of West Newbury and Kenneth Paradiso and his wife, Gail of Moorseville, NC; Wendy Paradiso of Rutland, who is the wife of her predeceased nephew, David; 12 grand nieces and nephews.
A funeral service honoring Ruth’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
