RUTLAND – Ruth E. (Flint) Martin, 93, formerly of 106 Main Street, died Sunday, July 10, 2005, in the Lutheran Home of Worcester.
Her husband of 50 years, Harold J. Martin, died in 1982. She leaves two daughters, Carol A. van Leeuwen and her husband Phillip of Aiken, South Carolina, and Ruth E. Rojcewicz and her husband Edward P. Jr. of Rutland; a brother, M. Frederick Flint of Worcester; a sister, Grace O. Hansen of Holden; 5 grandchildren, Matthew E. van Leeuwen of Beverly Hills, California, Amy van Leeuwen of Indiana, Keith E. Rojcewicz of New Braintree, Todd M. Rojcewicz of Powhatan, Viginia, and Eric M. Rojcewicz of Rutland; and six great-grandchildren. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Thomas D. and Ethel M. (Brewster) Flint, and lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Rutland 22 years ago.
Mrs. Martin worked for Sprague Electric in Worcester for 15 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church.
The funeral for Mrs. Martin will be held on Friday, July 15, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
