Ruth H. (Allen) Nowak

HOLDEN – Ruth H. (Allen) Nowak, 89, a lifelong Jefferson resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2015 at Holden Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center, Holden. Ruth was born in Holden, a daughter of the late Raymond J. and Annie (McGourty) Allen.
She graduated from the former Holden High School and the Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester. Ruth worked for many years as a registered nurse and nurse manager at the former Hahnemann Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles W. Nowak, who died in 2007.
Ruth leaves her son, John W. Nowak and his wife, Lucy of Jefferson; her two grandsons, Joshua C. Nowak and his wife, Caitlin Condon of Hopkinton and Alex W. Nowak of Ames, IA. Ruth also was the sister of Raymond Allen and Ann Thompson.
A graveside service will be held at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Holden in the spring. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Little Sister’s of the Poor, 186 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA 02143.
