Lunenberg / Sterling - Russell L. Farnsworth, Jr., 47, formerly of Sterling, passed away Thursday, May 12th at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester following a battle with leukemia. Russ was born on July 16,1968 in Springfield VT to Betty A. (Richardson) Chapman and Russell L. Farnsworth, Sr.
Russ graduated from Wachusett Regional High School. He was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors in Boston and International Union of Operating Engineers Local 4, Boston and has and worked for the past 10 years for Albanese Brothers Construction in Dracut Mass. Previously, Russ worked with his family in their business, R.E. Chapman , Co. A very hard worker, Russ was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He leaves his beautiful loving wife of 26 years, Lisa A. (Salls) Farnsworth; his daughter, Jessica A Farnsworth of Lunenburg; his son Russell L. Farnsworth, III and his wife, Lindsey L. Farnsworth of Ashburnham; his two beautiful granddaughters whom he adored so much, Miranda A. Farnsworth and Leda R Farnsworth; his parents, Betty A Chapman and Richard Chapman of West Boylston and Russell L. Farnsworth, Sr. and Vanessa Loomis Farnsworth of Chester VT; two brothers, Michael A. Belville of Marietta, OH and Jason L. Farnsworth of Springfield, VT; his two sisters, Martine L. Belville of Leominster and Sara Armen of Waitsfield, VT; his four step-brothers, Dave, Jeff, Steve and Andy Chapman; his three stepsisters, Stephanie Sequin, Renee Lillie and Amy Hebert; nieces and nephews, in-laws, aunts and uncles, cousins and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Meme Bertha L. (Cowan) Terry. A truly devoted family man, loved his family and friends so much and spending time with them was most important to him. He was an talented welder an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, boating, snowmobiling, riding dirt bikes and four wheeler as well as camping. A true handyman he could fix most anything and was willing to help anyone out. We will celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure all the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends.
Family, friends and all those whose lives Russ touched are invited to a memorial service celebrating his life on Saturday, May 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling. Burial will follow High Plain Cemetery, West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 9 Erie Drive, Natick, MA 01760.
