Holden - Roy W. DuPont, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester. Born in Worcester, Roy was the cherished son of the late Royal W. and Ann B. (Grigas) DuPont and spent his early years in West Boylston.
Roy was a graduate of West Boylston High School and furthered his education at the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Nichols College, and Assumption College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. His expertise and dedication led to a distinguished career as a Purchasing Manager, where he contributed his talents to several respected companies, including Data General, Model American Computer, Wellfleet Communications, Inc., Electro-Optical Systems, and American Surgical Technologies Corp.
Roy's life was marked by a deep and enduring love for his late wife, Virginia (Beshai), with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Together, they made their home in Holden, where Roy nurtured a passion for gardening, traveling, and music. However, his greatest devotion was to his family, to whom he gave his unwavering love and support. Roy was also a great friend. With his effortless charm and captivating presence, Roy left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Roy was predeceased by his beloved Virginia in January of this year and his treasured grandson, Noah M. DuPont, in April. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Michael DuPont, and his wife, Jennifer Carlson, of Rutland; his daughter, Lisa Lange of Redmond, WA; and his grandchildren, Trevor and Amelia Lange. Roy was also predeceased by his brother, Paul DuPont.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston.
