PROVIDENCE, RI – Roselana (Coutinho de Rocha) Stetson, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 13. Born in Brazil, the daughter of the late Madalena da Rocha Raimundo.

Rose spent most of her early life in Brazil before moving to New York City, Newport, RI and finally, Providence, RI.

She was passionate about reading and could always be found with a book in her hand. Rose worked for decades at the Providence Public Library, a job she truly loved. She was gregarious in nature and always lived life to the fullest.

Rose is survived by her stepdaughter Rebecca Stetson of Bremerton, WA; three sisters-in-law, Dalva Raimundo of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mary Hebert and her husband, J. Lionel of Worcester, MA and Katie Stetson of Woodland, CA; nieces and nephews, Benjamin Hebert and his wife, Alyssa of Holden, MA, Katy England and husband, Paul of Dedham, ME, Molly Vye and her husband, Gerry of Andover, MA, Matt Lemaire and his wife, Jennifer of Nevada City, CA and close childhood friend, Leonor Matos of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John Stetson, her brother, Gustavo Raimundo and her sister-in-law, Linda Stetson.

A memorial service honoring her life will be held on Saturday, March 27 at 2:30 p.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Providence Public Library https://www.provlib.org/support-us/make-a-donation-to-ppl/ .
