Rose Anna (Michaud) Hmura

AUBURN - Rose Anna (Michaud) Hmura, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Worcester.
She was born in Lewiston, Maine on July 6, 1923 the daughter of Gabriel and Anne Adelaide (LeBrasseur) Michaud. She moved to Worcester in the late 1920s where she lived and married her husband, Anthony in 1948. Rose Anna is survived and will be lovingly missed by daughter, Kathryn Delugo and her husband, Bruce of South Windsor, CT; her four sons, Bryan A. Mura and his companion, Judith LeBlanc of Auburn, Gary R. Hmura and his wife, Judy of Shrewsbury, Gregory P. Hmura of Cedar Hills, Utah, Robert W. Mura and his wife, Kathleen of Princeton, and daughter-in-law, Linda Mura of Oxford; a sister, Idamay Michaud of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Michael Mura, David Mura, Daniel Mura, Steven Hmura, Alexander Mura, Denise Vitti and Robert Milone; twelve great-grandchildren, Sidney Mura, Rachel Mura, Madison Mura, Katlyn Mura, Camron Mura, Sadie Mura, Declan Mura, Avery Hmura, Emerson Hmura, Mark Pasqualini, Sarah Pasqualini and Matthew Milone, with two on the way and many nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, Rose Anna is predeceased by her former husband, Anthony, three brothers, Lionel Michaud, Edouard Michaud and Oscar Michaud and eight sisters, Yvonne Michaud, Isabelle Doray Picard, Virginie Vautier, Lillian Laurence, Jeanne Michaud, Aurel Michaud, Aurore Michaud and Angelina Michaud.
She was in one of the last classes to graduate from Holy Family Grammar School on Orange Street in Worcester, near where the main branch of the Worcester Public Library now stands. Rose was proud of her contribution to the World War II effort and was employed at St. Pierre Chain in Worcester as a lady welder, welding anchor chains for Navy ships. She also had an entrepreneurial spirit and for a time operated Quick Stitch, a sewing business at Webster Square in Worcester and for a time operated a hot dog stand, sometimes located at the reservoir in West Boylston. She thoroughly enjoyed the lively get-togethers, playing cards and Scrabble with her brothers and sisters, and especially loved the frequent gatherings with her loving family.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Rose’s family from 11 a.m. to 12 noon followed by a funeral service at 12 noon on Friday, December 30, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, Patient Activities Fund, 378 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605.
The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center for their kindness and care during her brief seven month stay at their wonderful facility in Worcester.
