Rosa Albano (Matias) Morrow

October 8, 1944 — June 4, 2023

Worcester- Rosa Albano (Matias Morrow), 78, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 4th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves her beloved husband Steve Morrow; two daughters, Laura Bennis (Jeffrey Sullivan) and Kelly Nelson (who was predeceased by her long-time companion William Bibaud); four grandchildren, Anthony (A.J.) Bennis, Jordan (Nelson) Knox (Daniel Knox), Christopher Nelson (Lismarie Gonzalez), and Davin Nelson; and nine great-grandchildren, Lilly, Mya, Avery, Ryleigh, Rowan, Emerson, Greer, Shea, and Wyatt. A Sister; Maria McCarthy (predeceased by her husband Harold McCarthy) of Riverside, CA. Nephew, Harold McCarthy; Nieces, Judy Cummings (Danielle) and Christine Moore, and their spouses, along with many great nieces and nephews. Rosa was predeceased by her parents Ricardo and Juraci Matias and grandparents Antonio and Maria Albano.

Rosa was born in Alverca da Beira, Portugal a small village close to the border of Spain, where her family made wine and father had a bakery. She journeyed here in her teenage years to live in Holyoke, MA.
Rosa had many talents including sewing, decorating, and cooking. She even played the squeezebox. Rosa had a gift for pleasing the people that she loved most. She had a love for nature and gardening that brought her so much joy. The bounty of her labor would be enjoyed by all her family, neighbors, and friends.
Rosa was an adoring wife, mother, grandmother, ‘little-grammy’; her kindhearted spirit will live on through us.

Rosa a former runner, remained active walking (more like speed-walking) and you might have even noticed her recently tooling around in the driveway on her great-granddaughter’s bicycle!
Rosa had worked for many years in the food service industry as a waitress and hostess in many establishments; The White House Restaurant, The Rustic Restaurant (Holden), Maxwell Silvermans, Coral Seafood (Green St), The Boynton.

Rosa also formally owned and operated a boutique in West Tatnuck; Sidekicks. Rosa travelled back and forth to Fall River to find the most high-end fashions of the time. Rosa also co-owned and operated R&S Trucking for many years working side-by-side with her beloved husband managing the business operations.

Burial services will be private and under the direction of the Miles Funeral Home.
