North Brookfield/Holden – Ronald J. Malooly, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in West Brookfield. Born in Holden to the late George and Sadie (Corey) Malooly, he was a proud member of the Wachusett High School Class of 1967.
Ronald honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and continued his education at Quinsigamond Community College. His life was dedicated to serving his community. He began as a police officer in the town of Princeton and served for many years as a volunteer firefighter in Holden. Ron also spent a significant portion of his career as a truck driver for the Department of Public Works in both Holden and Princeton. In his retirement, he enjoyed driving for AA Transportation, finding joy in staying active and connected.
A lover of the outdoors, Ronald found peace and fulfillment in nature. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, passions that enriched his life. A licensed private pilot, he delighted in the freedom of flight, whether soaring through the skies or piloting model airplanes with precision and care.
Ronald will be lovingly missed and remembered by his sons, Christopher Malooly and his wife, Jennifer of Chicopee, Andrew Malooly of Worcester and Timothy Malooly and his wife, Sara of Holden; his brother, Daniel Malooly of Holden; and his beloved grandchildren, Paige and Brady.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service honoring and celebrating Ronald’s life at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Holden Fire Department, 1384 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520.
