Ron E. Sheperd

CHARLTON – Ronald E. Sheperd, 64, of Warrenton, Missouri, formerly of Charlton, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri following a courageous battle with heart disease.

He leaves his wife, Sharon Sheperd of Warrenton, Missouri and his beloved dog, Tigger; three sons, Scott Sheperd and his wife Beth of Arlington, Texas, Ronald Sheperd of Charlton and Timothy Sheperd and his wife Angela of Wheelwright; a daughter, Laurie (Sheperd) Nowosadko and her husband Mark of Dudley, and the mother of his children, Cheryl Ordway of Douglas. He will be greatly missed by his six grandchildren, Kaylea and Colton of Arlington, Texas, Alicia and Tyler of Dudley, Tisha and her husband Steven of Southbridge, and Ethan of Wheelwright; and a great-grandchild, Brooke-Lynn of Southbridge as well as his stepmother, Joanne (Samko) Sheperd of Worcester; two sisters, Kathleen Sheperd and husband David Strand of Sherborn and Elaine Vincent of Webster; two brothers, Robert Edmonds and wife Joann of Webster and George Houle and his wife Sheila of Oxford; a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law, Shirley and Larry Fahrig of Missouri; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Edith (Hardy) Sheperd, and brothers, Richard Sheperd and John Faucher.

Ron attended Worcester Regional Vocational School of Worcester. He was an avid mechanic, carpenter, gardener and cook as well as a builder and flyer of model airplanes. He was a supervisor at General Motors in Framingham and St. Louis, Missouri for many years. Ron loved to travel (especially to Maine), play golf, ride and race motorcycles, and laugh.

A memorial service celebrating Ron's life will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church, 113 Union Street, Natick, on Saturday, September 27th, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Transplant Association of St. Louis, c/o Janet Huupp, 1808 Lincoln Knolls Drive, Edwardsville, IL, 62025.
