HOLDEN – Roland F. Knight, 87, of 21 Jamieson Road, died Monday, February 9, 2004, at the Coes Pond Hospice Residence, Worcester, after being diagnosed with lung cancer two weeks earlier.
His wife of 41 years, Anna T. (Mientkiewicz) Knight, died on July 17, 1980. He is survived by his son, Richard W. Knight of Holden, and several nephews, nieces and cousins. His brother, Alleion F. Knight of Shrewsbury, died February 3, 1987. He was born in Worcester on February 9, 1917, son of Francis A. and Maude E. (Holland) (Fiske) Knight and lived in Holden 55 years. He attended Commerce High School in Worcester and Worcester Jr. College.
Mr. Knight was employed as a sale engineer for Reed Rolled Thread Die Co. (Reed Rico) in Holden for many years, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed photography and was a member of the Seven Hills Camera Club in Worcester.
The funeral service for Mr. Knight will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Websiter Street, Worcester. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, in the funeral home.
