HOLDEN- Roger K. Stafford, 66, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.
He leaves his mother, Maureen I. (Cox) Stafford of Holden; his sister, Wendy M. Stafford of Shrewsbury; his sister-in-law, Dale A. (Rice) Stafford of Princeton; nephews and nieces, Sean K. Stafford of Worcester, Leslie A. Pude and her husband, Mark of Honeoye Falls, NY, Timothy J. Stafford of Los Angeles and Matthew L. Stafford of Barre; a grandnephew, Jacob Pude and a grandniece, Avery Pude. He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth R. Stafford and two brothers, Keith “Tom” Stafford and Mark P. Stafford.
Roger was born in Boston and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1966. He was drafted in 1968 and was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. After serving his country, Roger worked at Norton Company with his father and later was a truck driver for Leahy Construction Company in Holden. He was an avid New England sports fan, NASCAR enthusiast and loved to spend time with his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A memorial service for Roger will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 22, in Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520. A private committal service with military honors will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to the Chaffin Congregational Church.
