Together they opened and operated the John Powers Modeling School and Acting Agency in Worcester. In 1999 they opened their second agency in Boston, where they remained until their retirement in 2010.

A devout Catholic, he was a faithful and dedicated member of St. George Catholic Church in Worcester. In his spare time, he was a talented woodworker and he enjoyed gardening and watching his favorite sports teams compete. Roger was an accomplished golfer and he enjoyed fishing. He always looked forward to time spent playing cards with his friends. Roger’s favorite times were spent gathering for family cookouts and getting together with his family during the Christmas season.
