WEST BOYLSTON – Roger H. Erickson, 95, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born in Worcester, the son of Henry F. and Amy F. (Berg) Erickson and graduated from South High School and later attended Northeastern University in Boston.
He leaves his wife of 45 years, Jane (McRell) Chapman Erickson; a son, Richard C. Erickson and his wife, Judith of Braintree; a step-daughter, Susan E. Chapman and her partner, Sue Lauder of Worcester; a step-son, Robert E. Chapman, III and his wife, Karen of Bradenton, Florida; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. His first wife, June (Forsman) Erickson, passed away in June 1965.
Roger was an engineer at Lutco Inc. in Worcester for many years retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Oakdale United Methodist Church, sang in the choir and served on various committees. He was a life member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and was a charter member of the West Boylston Lions Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Roger at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, in the Oakdale United Methodist Church, 15 North Main Street, West Boylston, MA 01583. A private committal service will be held at a later date at High Plains Cemetery in Oakdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trustees of Oakdale United Methodist Church.
