Roberta E. (Salsman) Kravitz

WORCESTER - Roberta E. (Salsman) Kravitz, 74 of Worcester died peacefully after a lengthy illness on July 26, 2024 at Umass Memorial Medical Center She was a wife, mother, and grandmother. Roberta was born in Worcester on July 29, 1949 and was raised in Rochdale, a section of Leicester. She was the daughter of Robert and Gloria(Barriere) Salsman.

Roberta was the devoted loving wife to her husband David Kravitz for 56 years. Their love story began as teenagers, sharing many vacations, special events and familygatherings throughout their years together.

In addition to her husband, she leaves behind her daughter Robyn Goldberg, her husband Willam and their children, Rebekah, Max, his fiancee Jaimilee, and Jonathan; her daughter Kimberly Stiller and her children Paige and Brynn. She also leaves her brother Ronald Salsman. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Mark Salsman.

Roberta grew up in Rochdale where she was an all-star softball player. She graduated from Leicester High in 1968. After graduation she and her husband moved often, finally settling in Worcester to be near family. She worked as a bookkeeper at Toledo Scale before working at her favorite place: Solomon Schechter Day School. She enjoyed volunteering at The Jewish Health Care as a hospice volunteer and served on the board of The Beth Israel Synagogue’s Sisterhood for many years.

She will be remembered by her family for her skills, both in the kitchen (especially her chicken soup) and on the sewing machine. Being a lifelong and faithful fan, Roberta enjoyed watching the Boston Celtics, and her many soap operas. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, vacationing in Mexico, cruising on different cruise ships, going to the beach, and spending time with her family. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren watching them grow into adults. Roberta’s 2 faithful dogs, Brady and Fenway will miss her greatly.

Her family has taken comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and would like to thank all of her doctors and nurses that cared for her over many years.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 28, 2024 at Congregation Beth Israel,15 Jamesbury Drive, Worcester. Interment will follow at B’nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John’s Road, Worcester. Shiva will be observed following Interment and on Monday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. with a Minyan at 7:00 p.m. on both days at Roberta’s late residence. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Roberta’s memory may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606 ( www.worcesterarl.org ).
