WINCHENDON/CLINTON – Robert W. Wright, 81, of 92 Maple Street, formerly of Clinton, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, in his home after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Esther I. (Farnsworth) Wright; a son, David D. Wright of Belmont, Maine; four daughters, Terry J. Osborn and her husband Loren Leatherdale of Clinton; Darlene E. Bashaw and her husband Gary of Clinton, Robin L. Crowe and her husband George J. of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, and Betty Ash and her husband George L. of Belmont, Maine; a sister, Bertha Davis of Claremont, New Hampshire; 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Doris Wright of Windsor, Vermont; nephews and nieces; grandnephews and nieces; many cousins. A son, Walter W. Wright, died in 1985. He is also predeceased by two sisters and five brothers including his twin, Richard W. Wright, who died on February 21. He was born in Springfield, Vermont, the son of Joseph C. and Mamie J. (Blodgett) Wright, and lived many years in Clinton and six years in Winchendon.
Mr. Wright worked many years in the Clinton area and most recently at Chandler Machine Company in Ayer.
The funeral service for Mr. Wright will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, in the Miles – Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, in the funeral home.
