BARRE – R. Wilson Dea, 77, of Phillipston Rd., died on Monday, November 6, 2006, in Worcester, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 38 years, Joyce F. (Lamson) Dea; two daughters, Allison Dea-Marinelli and her husband James of West Boylston and Christina A. Dea of Englewood, FL; three sons, Robert E. Dea of Barre; Thomas C. Matukaitis of Englewood, FL and Charles J. Matukaitis and his wife Beth of Englewood, FL; a sister, Allison Dea of Kennett Square, PA; and seven grandchildren. He was born and raised in Holden, the son of Robert and Adelaide (DeLong) Dea and lived many years in Barre.

Mr. Dea graduated from Holden High School and American Flyers in Texas. He owned and operated Dea Insurance Company in Holden and worked several years as a commercial pilot. He was a plane enthusiast who had a passion for flying. He was an avid photographer and dog lover.

A memorial service for Mr. Dea will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, at Harty Farm, Harty Road, Barre. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is directing arrangements.
