Sterling - Robert Allan Snipes, Sr. died peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, he had just proudly celebrated his 70th birthday on November 22, 2023. He was born in Clinton and grew up in Lancaster, the son of the late Floyd C. and Evelyn M. (Munyon) Snipes.
Robert graduated from Nashoba High School with the class of 1971. He studied plumbing at the former Leominster Trade School and pursued a career as a Master plumber. Robert was a proud member of the Plumbers & Gasfitters UA Local 12 in Boston and worked for over 25 years for J.C. Cannistraro Construction Company, retiring in 2015.
As a young man, Robert developed a strong work ethic that served him throughout his life. He was the ultimate handyman and could fix any problem whether it was plumbing, electrical, carpentry or automotive in nature. After his marriage to Sherryanne, they lived in Lancaster for 11 years and moved to Sterling 36 years ago.
Robert had a lifelong interest in all sports and was especially interested the Red Sox and the Patriots and was an avid golfer. His greatest passion, however, was his family and he was especially proud of his beloved grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Sherryanne (Zalneraitis) Snipes; his sons, Robert Snipes, Jr. and his wife, Janice of Sterling and Gregory Floyd Snipes and his wife, Nikki of Tyngsboro; his sisters, Nalene "Tudy" S. Snyder of Jacksonville Beach, FLA, Barbara A. Soldi and her husband, Thomas of Clinton and Dale A. MacArthur of Lakeland, FLA; his grandchildren, Darren Robert Snipes and Mallory Evelyn Snipes; his sisters-in-law, Sheila Panagiotopoulos of Worcester and Nancy Muise and her husband, Alan of Anchorage, AK; his best friends, Ted Smith and his wife, Joyce of Thompson, CT and Brian Dyment and his wife, Margie of Bluffton, SC; as well as several nieces and nephews. Robert was also predeceased by his brother, Gary L. Snipes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling. A memorial service honoring and celebrating Robert's life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6th at the funeral home.
