FITCHBURG – Robert A. Prinsen, 66, of 22 Daniel Heights, Fitchburg, passed away at Health Alliance Hospital, Leominster, on Saturday, July 28, 2012. He was born in Leominster on November 18, 1945, son of the late Eugene L. and Ruth M. (Barrett) Prinsen. He grew up in Sterling and was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School.
He is survived by two sisters, Joyce M. Shepardson and Cindi J. Johnson; two brothers, Allen B. and Wayne G. Prinsen; and 16 nieces and nephews. Mr. Prinsen was predeceased by his brothers Lester and twin Ralph Prinsen.
Mr. Prinsen loved worshipping at the Christian Life Center in Leominster. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 823 in Fitchburg. Mr. Prinsen also played the trumpet for the Salvation Army and would cheerfully play outside of different retail stores to raise funds for those who were less fortunate during the cold Christmas season. He loved gardening and was a gifted artist. His inspired drawings and sketches are now cherished by his friends and loved ones.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Mr. Prinsen at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. Burial will be private at Hillside Cemetery, Sterling. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Christian Life Center, Building Fund, P.O. Box 1388, Leominster, MA 01453.
