WEST BOYLSTON-Robert A. Peeso, 73, of West Boylston and formerly of Sterling, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the UMass University Hospital, Worcester, after being stricken ill earlier in the day. Bob was born in Fitchburg, a son of the late Elmer W. and Sylvia M. (Ovaska) Peeso. One of four children, Bob was raised in Sterling and lived there for many years before moving to West Boylston. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School, Holden and Becker Junior College, Worcester, where he studied accounting. Following his graduation, Bob became a staff accountant for Joseph Feldman in Clinton for several years. He then worked as an accountant for 35 years for the Norton Company, Worcester and retired in 2001. Never one to just want to sit around, Bob continued helping clients prepare their personal taxes for many years. Bob also loved to travel and he had visited many areas and parks in the United States, as well as visiting Australia and New Zealand. An avid golfer, Bob could be found on many of the area golf courses. He was also a member of the Greendale Retired Men’s Club. Bob’s greatest joy was in celebrating his family, especially watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Bob leaves his two beloved daughters, Karen B. Carrigan and her husband, Joseph of Sterling, and Kim M. Gilchrest and her husband, Brendon of Lancaster; his five adoring grandchildren; Kevin, Ryan, Briahana, Keli and Kameron; his three siblings, brother William Peeso and his wife Jeanne of Northborough, his twin, Richard Peeso and his wife, Joanne of West Boylston, and his sister, Sharon A. Smith and her husband, Philip of Sterling; his dear friend and companion, Kathleen A. Johnson of Holden; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bob’s family on Tuesday, May 6th , from 4-7 p.m. in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. A service honoring and celebrating Bob’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 7th at the First Church, 6 Meetinghouse Hill Road, Sterling at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will be follow at the Hillside Cemetery.
