Robert H. Lussier

Robert H. Lussier, 75, of Jefferson passed away on June 22, 2022.

Bob was born in Worcester to Rita and Henry Lussier. Growing up he was in a band in which he played the bass. Bob became a handyman from a young age, building picnic tables and renovating his parents’ home whenever he had the chance.

Bob attended high school at the Worcester Boys Trade School. While attending, he won an award for designing the door for a community church. Shortly after graduating high school, he started working at Sundin Builders of Holden as a Finish Carpenter where he remained for 25 years. His following career transition was to Devereux school in Rutland where he was the in-house carpenter until his retirement. In the years following his retirement, Bob worked with the esteemed Chet Atkins in neighborhood landscaping.

He was an artistic family man whose favorite part of retirement was being able to spend more time with his family and building model World War II planes and tugboats. Bob could be found holding court either at his grill, picnic table or fire pit. Bob and Dawn held annual chili contest parties for friends, family and neighbors. The contests were always highly anticipated and even created a healthy competition for the first-place trophy.

Unarguably Bob’s favorite holiday was Christmas and you could tell. From decorating the home to cooking for over 20 people. His famous spaghetti and meatballs at Christmas won’t be forgotten nor will his choice to make pork instead last Christmas.

He will forever be missed by his family, friends, and community which he held dear.

Bob is preceded in passing by his first wife, Jane and their son, Neil. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dawn (Minasian); his son, Shawn Lussier and his wife, Sarah; his granddog, Preston; his grandcat, Jed; and a host of loving friends and family members.
