Biography
HOLDEN - Robert A. Larson, 90, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 12, 2016. He was born in Holden, the son of Einar and Ida P. (Hultin) Larson.
He leaves his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley M. (Olson) Larson; two sons, Jeffrey R. Larson of Holden and David A. Larson his wife, Debra of Worcester; two sisters Pauline Gabrielli and Nancy Atkins, both of Holden; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was an Army Veteran of World War II serving with Headquarters Battery 750th Anti Aircraft Artillery Battalion in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He was a painter for Van Dorn Plastics in West Boylston for several years before retiring. Previously, Robert worked at Pullman Standard, Warner Swasey and Norton Company. He was a lifelong member Chaffin Congregational Church and sang in the choir. Bob was a member of the Boylston Lodge of Masons and was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies of Worcester including, The Worcester Lodge of Perfection, Goddard Council, Prince of Jerusalem, and the Lawrence Chapter of Rose Croix. He also was a member of the Boston Consistory and the Melha Temple Shrine in Springfield, the John E. Harkins American Legion Post 68, the Greendale Retired Men’s Club and at one time he was a volunteer fireman for the Town of Holden. Bob enjoyed his home, gardening and trips to NASCAR races with his two sons

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 10 to 11 p.m. followed by a church service at 11 a.m. in the Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520. A committal service will be held in the spring at Grove Cemetery in Holden. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to the Chaffin Congregational Church Memorial Fund.
