WORCESTER - Robert J. Kunen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, with family by his side. Bob was born in Boston on December 4, 1941, to Samuel and Eleanor Kunen. He grew up in Marlborough and was the oldest of four sons. After graduating from Clark University and Leslie College, he enjoyed a career as both a teacher and vice principal in the Marlborough public schools.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Roberta, his daughters Pamela (Jonathan) Henes of New York, NY and Amy (Evan) Zall of Concord. He is also survived by his brothers Mark, Jimmy (Lisa) and Peter as well as his seven grandchildren Sam, Ellie, Noah, Charlotte, Simon, Cece and Jake. He loved nothing more than going to the Cape with his family and listening to Neil Diamond’s greatest hits in the early evenings. He was also an avid Red Sox fan and followed their saga meticulously and enthusiastically throughout his life. He will be missed.
Due to the covid 19 outbreak, a private graveside service will be held at Worcester Hebrew Cemetery in Auburn. Contributions may be made in his memory to Chabad of Central Mass, 22 Newton Ave, Worcester, Ma 01602, the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, Ma 01609 or to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Richard Perlman of Miles Funeral Home.
