Biography
WORCESTER - Robert Selig Jacobs, age 74, of 1020 Main Street in Worcester, passed away on Saturday, January 21 after an illness. He leaves a brother Kenneth L. Jacobs of Los Angeles, married to Dr. Sharon Schwartz and their 2 children, and a son Howie married to Renee (Pipi) of Worcester and their two children. Bob was born in Worcester, the son of Irving Jacobs and Evelyn (Feigin) Kimenker and lived most of his life in Worcester. Bob attended Commerce High School in Worcester and St Johnsbury Academy in Vermont. Bob worked for many years with his father at Chandler Glass Company of 228 Chandler St. in Worcester. Later he established his own mobile glass service. Bob loved fast cars, the beach and boating, and of course his dogs. As a young man he enjoyed the thrill of competition at New England drag strips. He enjoyed the beach and boating in Newport Beach and Florida with his wife Arlene McLaughlin formerly of Chelmsford, Mass. Bob will be missed and remembered by all who knew him. A private burial will be held at B’nai Brith Cemetery in Worcester on Wednesday January 25th. A memorial service will be scheduled for the Spring.
