PAXTON – Robert R. “Bob” Herron, age 87, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 surrounded by his family. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Robert R. and Helen E. (Bender) Herron.
Bob graduated from South High School in Worcester and served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, from 1957-1958. He married the love of his life, June T. Tingle, in 1965.
He worked in the engineering department at the Heald Machine Company and later at Cincinnati Milacron Co. in Worcester, retiring after 39 years in February of 1992.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Paxton where he served on the Board of Trustees. He had been a member of the Town of Paxton Recycling Committee for many years. Bob and his family enjoyed several trips to Europe, leaving the family with a lifetime of memories that they will cherish. In his retirement years, Bob enjoyed woodcarving and spending time at the family’s cottage in Maine.
He leaves his beloved wife, June T. (Tingle) Herron of 56 years; two daughters, Karen E. Migdelany, married to Todd Migdelany of Rangeley, ME, formerly of Holden, and Donna G. Herron and her husband, Theodore Majka of Simpsonville, SC; a sister, Linda Hagberg and brother-in-law, Russell of Alpharetta, GA; and several nieces and nephews. His sister Jean and husband, Edwin Colton predeceased him.
A private burial is arranged at the request of the family at Mooreland Cemetery in Paxton. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
