Robert G. Jacobsen

WORCESTER -Robert Gustav Jacobsen “Jake” left this world to join his beloved wife, Alice Dorothea (Hale) Jacobsen (deceased 1 January 1982) on 22 January 2005.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Judy Anne (Jacobsen) Kendrick of Valparaiso, Indiana and Linda Alice (Jacobsen) Conner of Holden, his son-in-law Fred Conner, his five grandchildren Denise (Kendrick) Clemens (Kyle) of Texas, Mark Kendrick (Imelda Reduque) of California, Lt. Col. Gregg Kendrick of North Carolina, Sheri Conner Gausepohl (Mark) of Colorado and Scott Conner of Massachusetts, his two great grand-children, Brian and Lauren Kendrick of California and his younger brother Benno Jacobsen (Marie) of Colorado.

He is also preceded in death by his son-in-law Donald Kendrick, and his siblings Iwer (Betty), William ‘Jit’ (Marie) and Virginia Richards (Ray).
Bob Jacobsen was born to Iwer and Antoinette (Koehling) Jacobsen in Lyndhurst, NJ on 2 May 1915 and brought up in the Lutheran Church. On 4 June 1938, Bob married the love of his life Alice Hale and lived primarily in New Jersey, the last eight years in Worcester near his beloved daughter Linda and son-in-law Fred. He was an active member of the Masonic lodge in Lyndhurst, NJ, where he attained his 50-year service award as Master Mason.

His family and many friends will remember “Jake”, Bob, Uncle Robbie, Uncle Bob, Poppop as a man of great wit, outstanding character and a wonderful storyteller.

The funeral service for Mr. Jacobsen will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 24 in the First Congregational Church of Holden, 1180 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Christopher Heights, Activities Fund, 20 Mary Scano Drive, Worcester, MA 01605. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
