WORCESTER - Robert T. Germain, 72, of Barry Road, Worcester, passed away at home on Friday, November 29, 2013, after a long illness. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Francis L. and Arlene (Naas) Germain, and had lived in Pennsylvania and Texas before moving back in Worcester last year.
Robert graduated from Upper Moreland High School in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for Denka Chemical Company in Houston, Texas for 20 years and retired as a warehouse manager and customer service manager at Noltex Chemical Company in La Porte, Texas. He enjoyed golf, riding motorcycles in the 1970's, Broadway musicals and was a season ticket holder for the Houston Oilers when living in Texas. He was known for his quick wit and his gregarious personality.
He leaves behind his wife with whom he celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on November 20th, Maria Ann (Leotilo) Germain; two sisters, Arlene F. Germain and her spouse, Karen McNabb of Shrewsbury and Cynthia G. Bazinet of Holden; a nephew, Quinn Bazinet of Holden; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jennifer and James Mellors; a niece, Denise Scott and her spouse, Tom; and a grandniece, Courtney Schneider all of Brookneal, VA.
Robert's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at VNA Care Network & Hospice for their care and compassion during his illness.
Funeral arrangements are private and at the convenience of the family.
