FITCHBURG, MA - Robert "Bob" Flink, Jr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 2, 2025. Robert was born in Worcester on June 6, 1952. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Vernest (Crowley) Flink of West Boylston. Bob is survived by the love of his life, Jane (Royce) Flink of Fitchburg, and his three children, Robert Flink III and his wife Bonnie of Uxbridge, Allison (Flink) Carey and her husband Dustin of Belchertown, and Daniel Flink and his wife Jeni of Worcester. Bob was an extremely proud Grandfather of six grandchildren, James, Addison, Emma, Chloe, Jacob, and Cameron. He is also survived by his sister, Karen (Flink) Winston of West Boylston, and leaves many nieces and nephews.
Bob grew up in West Boylston and graduated from West Boylston Jr./Sr. High School in 1970. He went on to attend Quinsigamond Community College graduating with multiple degrees in Science and Respiratory Therapy in 1974. Following graduation, he created and directed the first department of Respiratory Therapy at Worcester Hahnemann Hospital. It was here that he met his loving wife, Jane Royce, with whom he shared his life for over 45 years. Bob continued to expand his career in home health care and was a clinical specialist in his field. His extensive knowledge enabled him to travel and provide professional training throughout the country. He retired from Massimo in 2020.
Bob and his wife raised their family in Rutland where they were active members of their community. Bob and his sons were members of Boy Scout Troop 141 where they enjoyed backpacking, camping and canoeing throughout northern New England together. Later in life Bob enjoyed life at the Cape where he spent time walking the beach with Jane, playing in the sand with grandkids, and golfing.
Bob took immense pride in his home, pouring his heart and soul into every detail of his projects. His love for working with his hands was unparalleled, and he earned a reputation as a true craftsman. From landscaping to building beautiful koi ponds, stonework, and woodworking, his talent knew no bounds. Bob was deeply proud of his Swedish heritage, he cherished the tradition of making glögg with close friends and family, creating memories that will last forever.
To know Bob was to love him - a friend to everyone, a steady presence, and an endless source of wisdom. He had a way of making everyone feel special and his legacy of kindness and love will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on March 12th from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at Miles Funeral Home in Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel in West Boylston. Private burial to be held later in the spring.
