Robert 'Bobby' C. Ovian

HOLDEN – Robert C. Ovian, 38, of Jackson Street, Jefferson, passed away unexpectedly into the loving arms of his Lord on Palm Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester. He was born in Worcester, the son of Robert M. and Susan E. (Laconte) Ovian, lived most of his life in Holden and several years in Colorado.



Bobby graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. Music was a passion for Bobby and was gifted at playing many instruments including the piano, guitar, banjo and harmonica. A self-employed musician, lyricist and teacher, he enjoyed helping others develop their musical skills and talents and will be remembered by his students and friends for his gentle and kind nature. Previously, he worked as a sound engineer at Soundtrack in Boston. He had a deep faith and love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.



He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving daughter, Aeriel LaFayette of Sterling; his parents, Robert M. and Susan E. (Laconte) Ovian of Jefferson; two sisters, Tracy E. and her husband Dr. Patrick McEnaney of Mendon and Heather A. and her husband John Petruney of Hopkinton; his paternal grandmother, Alyce Ovian Miller of Worcester; his fiancee, Greta Price of Holden; 7 nephews and nieces, Brittany and Cami Mongiat, Parker, Jack, and Charles Petruney, Patrick and Benjamin McEnaney.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, and again on Wednesday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a procession to St. George Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester for a funeral Mass celebrating Bobby’s life at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Education Fund of Aeriel LaFayette”, c/o Leominster Credit Union, 715 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520.
