STERLING - Robert J. Cormier, 90, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Sterling Village after an illness. He was born in Worcester, the son of John A. and Lucia (Geraldi) Cormier and lived most of his life in Sterling.
He leaves his children, Cathleen Dymon of Spencer, Robert "Jay" Cormier, his caregiver of Sterling; Raymond Cormier and his wife Kristen, of Sterling; his brother, Richard Cormier; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three generations of nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Simone and his brother, John Cormier, II.
After graduating from Worcester Boys Trade School, Bob enlisted into the U.S. Navy. He served with the Pacific Fleet on both the USS Midway and the USS Belle Grove for Operation Castle. He was a machinist at Wyman Gordon Company in Worcester for many years before retiring. In his leisure, Bob was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 17th in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. Funeral services will be privately held at a later date.
